The whole of Cape Town has been waiting weeks to watch the demolition of the historic Athlone Towers... People waited patiently in traffic, picnicked in the rain and hiked halfway up signal hill only to miss the explosion as an over-zealous engineer (it was alleged) hit the button three minutes early.
