Ready for the Weekend!
We live in a beautiful country and I am not sure if there is anyone out there who is more 'proudly South African' than I am (although... us South Africans are known to be pretty patriotic...) so when I saw this really epic music video I knew I had to share it.
Besides the really cute story, good music, occasional pun (look out for the trunk in a trunk) and great cinematography (is that what they call it... even for a music video?) a lot of the video is shot in SA! Yay for us :D enjoy the weekend!

A Curious Love
I stumbled across this very clever love letter and just had to share it.
Note: it may seem strange at first, but read it right to the end (and then don't forget to read the small print).

I think it is brilliant! Is there a girl in the world who doesn't dream of being adored and showered with love letters, poetry and flowers?
And just to keep the mood of love going... (a song from my future mixtape)

A Blade of Grass
So after much pondering over what to post we thought a simple (yet beautiful) poem would be the perfect way to end an otherwise complicated and exhausting Monday.
| (source) |
A Blade of Grass
You ask for a poem.
I offer you a blade of grass.
You say it is not good enough.
You ask for a poem.
I say this blade of grass will do.
It has dressed itself in frost,
It is more immediate
Than any image of my making.
You say it is not a poem,
It is a blade of grass and grass
Is not quite good enough.
I offer you a blade of grass.
You are indignant.
You say it is too easy to offer grass.
It is absurd.
Anyone can offer a blade of grass.
You ask for a poem.
And so I write you a tragedy about
How a blade of grass
Becomes more and more difficult to offer,
And about how as you grow older
A blade of grass
Becomes more difficult to accept.
~Brian Patten

And before we go... just in case you are having trouble sleeping... watch this video- it really is the perfect lullaby. Gentle, but full of longing, desire and hopefulness (leaves us feeling nostalgic). And if that doesn't help... try some chocolate milk!
P.S You might find this fun (for the days when work is boring, or you feel like you need a little desktop inspiration).
